The Spirax Sarco Spirax Sarco 3" (DN80) and 4" (DN100) FT450 is a high capacity float and thermostatic steam trap. It adjusts the position of the double-seated main valve by means of a float so that condensate can be continuously discharged at the same rate as it enters the trap. Air that accumulates in the trap during startup or operation is discharged through the built-in bimetal air vent into a standpipe connected downstream of the main valve mechanism housing. The trap can be used in superheated steam systems that meet the design conditions for pressure housings and is capable of operating at any backpressure lower than the inlet pressure, with the capacity determined by the differential pressure (inlet pressure minus outlet pressure). Spirax Sarco's FT450 Carbon Steel Float Trap (3",4") features an internal float mechanism for continuous drainage at saturation temperatures and a built-in thermostatic venting valve for non-condensable gases. The bottom of the body has a mounting bracket with drilled feet. The trap has a built-in thermostatic air vent, the body is horizontally separated, and all internal parts are fully serviceable and do not require disassembly of the piping inlet or outlet. mounting The trap should be mounted under or near the equipment drain, with a strainer mounted on the front, and a full bore shutoff valve for servicing. The mounting bracket is bolted to a horizontal support. See the Installation and Maintenance Guide for details. protect and maintain The product can be serviced in-line without disassembling the piping. The trap must be completely isolated upstream and downstream before any maintenance is performed. Traps should be disassembled, inspected, and cleaned at regular intervals to remove the main valve assembly and air venting valve. For detailed information, see the Installation and Maintenance Guide included with the product. weights 485lb (220kg) Technical Data Download 450.pdfTI-2-3041-US FT450 Float Trap in Carbon Steel (3", 4").pdf
